Resources — Kouros Tools (DRAFT)

We don't make everything. Nobody does, and anyone who claims otherwise is either lying or very tired.

These are the companies, courses, and channels we point people toward when they ask. They're independent businesses, not Kouros Tools partners or dealers, and we don't sell or service what they offer.

A few of them — not most, and not all — are affiliate links, and those are marked where they appear. If you buy through one, we earn a small commission and your price stays exactly the same. What that commission did not do is buy anyone a spot on this page. Every company listed here is one we'd point you to regardless, and the ones that pay us nothing sit on exactly the same footing as the ones that do. This is where we'd source these products and services ourselves, and that's the only reason any of them made the list.

Learning and community

Cabinet Mastery

Cabinet making course and community · cabinetmastery.pro

Run by Josh, a one-man-plus-helper shop owner who figured out the business side the hard way and then wrote it down. It's a full A-Z video course covering shop layout, pricing, accounting, marketing, Mozaik design, production, finishing, and installation, plus editable worksheets and checklists and two live group Zoom calls every week. The real draw is the community: a moderated room full of serious cabinet pros, running anywhere from $60k to $700k+, who've already made the mistake you're about to make. Most of us learned craftsmanship and nobody ever taught us profitability. This is that missing half. Members also get 10% off at Kouros Tools, which is a nice bonus on top of learning how to price your work properly.

Today's Craftsmen

YouTube channel and articles · todayscraftsmen.com

Woodworker Jon Peters and professional cabinet maker Jeff Krug put out a new video every Saturday morning: tools, hardware, techniques, and start-to-finish builds. Concise and unbiased, which is rarer on YouTube than it should be. Their site backs each video with a written article, so you can go find the detail again later instead of scrubbing through twenty minutes of footage looking for the one clamp they used.

Materials and components

Frama-Tech

Edgebanding · framatech.com

Edgebanding since 1983, and they're not messing around: over 5,000 matches, 100,000 in-stock SKUs, no minimums, and same-day shipping from warehouses in Illinois, California, Texas, and New York. PVC, flex, paintable, digital print, metallics, and real wood veneer in just about every species. The one worth knowing about is paint-matched PVC in Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore colors, so your edges finally match the doors instead of almost matching them. Custom runs ship in 7 to 14 days. Call them and a human answers, which in 2026 counts as a feature.

Witmer Wood Products

Dovetail drawer boxes · Berlin, Wisconsin · witmerwoodproducts.com

American-made dovetail drawer boxes, handcrafted in Berlin, Wisconsin since 1992. Any size in 1/32" increments or metric, nine hardwood species, sides from 1/2" to 3/4", and custom work covering corner drawers, file drawers, through-dovetails, and concealed-slide-ready boxes. They arrive assembled, finished, and ready to install. Order ten or order hundreds. Either way, you get your Saturday back.

TNUTZ

T-slotted aluminum extrusion and hardware · tnutz.com · affiliate link

T-slot aluminum without the name-brand markup. Extrusions in 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, and 45 series, plus the t-nuts, gussets, brackets, plates, casters, screws, and end caps that actually make up most of the bill on any build. Order cut to length and machined to your spec so you're not standing there with a chop saw and a tape measure hoping for the best. Customers routinely report paying a fraction of what the big t-slot brands charge for the same thing. Fixtures, jigs, machine bases, outfeed tables, cart frames — if you've sketched it on scrap plywood at 11pm, this is where the parts come from.

Final Touch

Cabinet and countertop care products · getfinaltouch.com

Built by a second-generation kitchen restoration company that spent over 40 years working on high-end homes in New England, then bottled what they'd been using. Plant-based formulas with no bleach or ammonia: a cabinet cleaner made for finished wood that cuts grease and fingerprints without wrecking the finish, an Allstone countertop cleaner and detailer, and scrub brushes. Worth knowing about for the handoff at the end of a job, when the customer asks what they're supposed to clean their new kitchen with and you'd rather they didn't reach for the orange stuff under the sink.

Shop infrastructure

The Blastgate Co.

Dust collection ductwork · blastgateco.com

Real ductwork for real dust collection, at prices that won't have you rethinking that shop vac and a prayer. They're the actual manufacturer, not a middleman, so the savings are built in. Cast aluminum blast gates from 2" to 30", spiral pipe and fittings, flex hose, hangers, cable, and sealers. Their clamp-together pipe is the sleeper pick: no screws, no sealant, and it comes right back apart when it's time to clean it out. Lay out a system that fits your shop instead of settling for whatever the big-box store had on the shelf. Most of it ships same or next day.

No-Mar Moto Lift

Lift tables · nomartirechanger.com

This one takes a second to explain. No-Mar builds motorcycle lift tables in the USA, and it turns out they make an outstanding shop table. The deck runs 28" by 84" and handles 1,350 pounds, and it raises and lowers to whatever height the work calls for. Assemble a run of boxes at a comfortable height, drop it to load, raise it back up to finish. Your back stops keeping score. It's heavier and better built than most of what gets sold as woodworking equipment, because it was built to hold up a motorcycle.
